Welcome! Robert Mitchum, one of my favorite actors, once referred to the experience of making movies as a "magic carpet ride." It gave him the chance to discover people and places he never would have experienced otherwise. I think that watching a great film involves a similar act of discovery on the part of the viewer.

I have degrees in Music and English and currently earn a living as a musician. In college, though, I often wrote about film, exploring such topics as the rebirth of the Australian film industry in the 1970s and the critical reaction to "Thelma and Louise." I have been the Drama Movies editor since February, 2015.

I was happy to learn that I have a connection to the history of American film. A relative worked for "Gone with the Wind" producer David O. Selznick in the 1940s.
