How to Recreate Your Favorite Spa Experience

How to Recreate Your Favorite Spa Experience
Spa experience? Yes, you can still have a wonderful spa experience by bringing the spa concept home to you. At the time of this writing, COVID is still surging upward in most parts of the world. In fact, there are new strands emerging.

You need and want to be pampered now, more than ever. With the closing of most spas and salons, it's not possible nor is it safe. So, what do you do? Create your own.

Spa Experience for Body Care

It will all begin with a clean bathroom. It might be a bit more work on your part, however, it's worth it.

Think about it, you have to clean your bathroom anyway. Schedule it around the time you'd like to have your spa experience. This provides a clean environment for you to enjoy your soak. Nothing beats the ultimate soak in the bathtub.

Decide what body treatment you want to give yourself. Will it be a body butter scrub? A detox wrap? Or might it just be a calming and relaxing bath. Either way, there's prep time involved.

You have no idea what your skin care therapist go through preparing for your spa visit. They must clean the shower, sanitize the table, have fresh towels, and make sure the room temperature is right for you. They must also have the products ready for the treatment you ordered.

You will do the same. Have on hand an inventory of bath salts, essential oils, clay's, herbal teas, loofah and exfoliating gloves. This allows you to create a salt blend, massage/body oil, body scrub or herbal tea bags for bath soaks.

Body treatments can be a lot of fun. Not only will they moisturize your skin but you'll get the added treatment of removing dead skin cells. Dead skin cells can cause dull, ashy looking dry skin.

Spa Experience for Your Face

For facial spa treatments, you'll need essential oils and carrier oils for your facial serums. You'll need creams that serve as moisturizers.

Masks are a great way of getting the deep pore treatments that lift dirt, grime, blackheads and excess oil. Masks will also hydrate and moisturize your skin.

Cream based exfoliants are best for removing dead skin cells from facial skin. Your skin type will also determine this as well. They work well on dry to normal skin. A pumpkin mask might work better on oily skin.

Mask are great either way.

Your Bathroom Environment

Give your environment all the attention it needs to serve as a spa and daily bathroom facility for your family. Lucky enough to have a private bath that you don't share with the rest of the family? Go all out. It will help with your sanity in the long run, COVID and post-COVID.

That's it for this week. As always ...
